David Millington does this include all the fixes you made with the hotfixes in Tokyo? I am asking because we want to switch to 10.2.2 and we want to be sure of the quality/improvements
Brian Hamilton I agree. I’m stuck on a self-patched version of Berlin until the Android issues are fixed but there’s no mention in the Bug List of these issues which is odd
I'm guessing there are performance enhancements. Looking through the fix list there are some things in there like a mobile keyboard bound check fix, a multiview fix, an android crash at startup fix, an android onidle fix, and an android noise drawing fix. We'll have to see if it brings the Android support back up to Berlin or not.
"This has been addressed in 10.2 Release 2. The performance of the demos linked with this report is the same it was in Berlin 10.1.2. I'll blog in the coming days with the actual data I have collected. We have tried on different devices of different power, and all data is about the same – with minor differences. This is a large improvement on 10.2.1, which was a large improvement on 10.2." quality.embarcadero.com - Log in - Embarcadero Technologies
Hi, Android rendering performance regression - Phase 2 RSP-18799 was fixed in the 10.2.2 release. It was missing from the bug fix table on EDN by accident, but has since been added.
seems that FMX is a bit faster with this update? (anyone else notice that. i.e the program screens open faster etc i.e is it more optimised with this update of Tokyo?)
FYI, we've fixed a lot in 10.2.2. Performance is at 10.1 Berlin levels. Keyboard issues solved. Many others.
ReplyDeleteAnd High DPI on VCL ?
ReplyDeleteSurely you can read the What's New to find out what has changed?

ReplyDeleteAlberto Miola All hotfixes are always included in the next release. (Possibly some of the bugs may have a different or better fix.)
ReplyDeleteTo be fair what's new did not specifically mention performance improvement fixed for android?

ReplyDeleteWhats mean 10.2.2 is not binary compatible ?
ReplyDeleteEli M There are performance enhancements and I understand it's at Berlin levels. Marco will post more information.
ReplyDeleteCarlos Moreno Gil We will address this and post more info later. Stay tuned.

Sarina DuPont thanks for the update!

ReplyDeleteBrian Hamilton it seems so. Unfortunately I use tab animations which seem broken in this update so a complete showstopper but otherwise a lot better
