  1. This illustrates why we were unable to properly outsource Delphi work to India again and again while C#, Java and php transferred just fine. There is simply no Delphi knowledge in that huge country full of developers. That makes Delphi an expensive choice in many cases, which often results in middle-management pushing to “port” Delphi apps. They think that porting is a magically simple way of doing software development, while in reality it often turns out to be difficult and results are often crappy. If you “port” Delphi to something web based, rethink the entire architecture and UI, or you’ll end up with something unmaintainable and unusable, and if you outsource to India, expect your trainees and lead developers to quit one month after they become useful, to double their salaries at the neighbors, where they’ll perform the same trick. Frustrations of the past.. Oh, end of rant.
