No idea what happened with the original bug report, probably got lost at some database transition or somebody marked it "works as designed".

Dejan Crnila ran into the same issue last year and proposed the same solution as I did 18 years ago.

This bug is so old that it can vote in most (all?) European countries.

Please vote on the issue. Thanks.

  1. That's probably because until close to Delphi 6, the R&D team was very much kept shielded away from the public. Basically they only way to meet them was attend conferences on the USA west-coast. This made it hard to get stuff noticed by them. It loosened up after that period entering an era where for instance http://qc.embarcadero.com/wc/qcmain.aspx came along, engagement in forums and other public places increased very much.

One thing kept lacking however: an active mechanism by the teams to get bugs into QC: usually the ball was put in the hands of the Delphi users each and every time despite most of them not being familiar with good bug-reporting practice. This chicken-and-egg situation has preserved until now.
