The PyScripter IDE, which is written in Delphi is looking for translators. We have set up a translation project on transifex.com and would be happy if some people would join and help.

  1. I solicited a new language. I'm waiting.

  2. Thanks a lot Juan. I added you to the team for the already existing Spanish translation. For the time being we would like to stay with 'es,en,de' instead of 'es_ES,es_AR,en_UK,en_US, ...'

  6. I can help with the Chinese translation, but what's the deadline?

  7. Jeroen Wiert Pluimers You didn't know Pyscripter before? I feel it was great about 4 years ago when I was thinking of using Python for some of my automation task (but it turned out not a good idea for my use cases).

  8. Edwin Yip there is no deadline. It's an ongoing process. If you find time to translate, you can do 10 or 100 phrases. Anything helps.

  9. Edwin Yip I really did not know. Likely because I do most of my Python stuff on a Mac and a Linux box.

  10. Do you need translator for Filipino language?

  11. Any chance of a Mac version, it's by far one the best Python IDEs, but we can't us it because it's windows only.

  12. Alexis Esrajel Dagmil Why not, if you are willing to keep it up and running. Give it a thought whether you are going to be the only user and if it's going to be worth it for you.
I'm a bit reluctant in adding many new languages. My experience from TortoiseSVN is that translators start out with high motivation, but this drops rapidly when 10%-20% are done and the translation remains stale. If you look at the stats of TortoiseSVN: https://www.transifex.com/luebbe/tortoisesvn/, you'll notice that many translations are far from being complete. Languages with more than (roughly) 50% have GUI and docs translated, Languages with less than 50% have only a translation for the GUI.

  13. Herbert Sauro please ask (create an issue) on github. I don't know whether Kiriakos Vlahos can build for Mac. I can't.

  14. Lübbe Onken it would need rewritingis using fmx but could be a good example to show crossvclin action, save rewriting the code. How about it Eugene (Kryukov), would be a good example to show what crossvcl can do, might increase sales.
