I just installed this update and now can no longer compile GExperts:
ReplyDelete"Never-build package 'vcl' must be recompiled."
Since it compiled the last time I tried it, I'm pretty sure it's the patch that caused this. Any hints? Is there a way to uninstall it?
No problem here, but need to run the setup explicit "As Administrator".
ReplyDeleteAfterwards Gepxerts compiled with the CMD file fine.
Marco Cantù I just ran this HOT FIX and when starting up Rad Studio i receive a lot of "Cannot load packages.." for Firedac components, executed as Administrator so there is an issue that has to be resolved quickly.
ReplyDeleteTried to install the Hofix again explicitly as Administrator. Didn't make a difference. GExperts does not compile, neither in the IDE nor with the CMD file.
ReplyDeleteIt's not just GExperts: I cannot compile any VCL project when "Link with runtime packages" is enabled.

ReplyDeleteAll FireDac components will not load. This is a major bug and not sure how it got past QA. If you use FireDac for any projects at the moment i would suggest not to install this hot fix until it is repaired.
ReplyDeletei have run it, but no files extracted, process is fast, file setup .exe size is ok about 600MB
ReplyDeleteThe real fix: stay at seattle/berlin

ReplyDeleteyoutube.com - Hotfix tokyo 30819 not work
We have temporary pulled the hotfix, while we investigate which components it conflicts with. Feel free to add more information to the quality portal entry
ReplyDeleteMarco Cantù That is one reason why you should definitely have beta tests!
ReplyDeleteinstalled ok for me, no errors on startup, simple FMX test showed tab animation issue is still fixed. The new home page is still a dog's breakfast, however, and projects still don't remember the layout you left them on. (I know they weren't included in the hotfix, but wanted to get my grumble in anyway).
ReplyDeleteI can only repeat: Embarcadero, start eating your own dog food.

ReplyDeleteRichard Stevens The new home page has a separate hotfix to download...
ReplyDeleteRichard Baroniunas We are investigating . It is an elusive issue. I could personally update my machine and get all scenarios (FMX, FireDAC, runtime packages, third party components) work smoothly. I did ask for further comments in the QP entry, we'd appreciate any info.
We have re-issued the hotfix, now with improved UAC support, at cc.embarcadero.com - 30819 RAD Studio 10.2.2 Tokyo February 2018 Patch
ReplyDeleteMarco Cantù Hi Marco , What are the files touched by this Hotfix?
ReplyDeleteHow can I verify that it is installed correctly?
If you want to check the list of files, download the ZIP linked in the CC entry. But if the installation was wrong, it would have totally crashed your configuration...
