Delphi 10.2.3 Third Party Components

Delphi 10.2.3 Third Party Components

In the past it would take a week, two at the most for DevExpress to bring out the latest library for the latest Delphi incarnation. Then Digital Metaphors ( Report Builder ) might be a week or so after that.

We pay mega bucks for both of these libraries !

It appears both of them still have no offerings for Delphi 10.2.3. Not only that but no announcements as to when we might expect them.

This is what we pay tons of money for eh !

Maybe a post on G+ might shame them !

Has anyone tried the latest versions from DevExpress and Digital Metaphors? Do they work with 10.2.3?

  1. If they work for 10.2, they should work for 10.2.1, 10.2.2 and 10.2.3. They don't necessarily need to update them for every release; just for each version (i.e. major release)

  2. Alexander Elagin, David Nottage Oh I agree with you both, but it would be nice to get an email or a URL link to state that they work in 10.2.3. As otherwise I have to remove my Delphi 10.2.2; install 10.2.3 and then re-install all my components just to see if they work or not. A couple of hours work; especially if it needs rolling back. Whereas, how much time does it take for these vendors to declare conformity? They will be testing anyhow !

  3. Alexander Elagin I have followed your link for DevExpress and am happy with that reply. I think I will pester Digital metaphors for an answer now !

  4. A minor version never needs a confirmation of each component vendor tbh. They are non breaking releases for exactly that reason. The fact that 10.2.2 caused issues was caused by Embarcadero and because they did not do a beta where any third party vendor could have noticed that before release (or did those tests themselves).

  5. The latest devexpress and reportbulder both work fine for me in 10.2.3 and they have confirmed this to me.

  6. Rhett Price Thanks for confirming that !

  7. Michael Thuma Minor releases/updates are always worth installing because there are a ton of fixed issues and at least if you encounter something you can be sure you are not missing the fix that happened in an update.
