Is there a roadmap about this?

  1. So far there are only workarounds to fix that...

  2. One week to go and there's still no communication regarding whether they're going to meet the deadline or not? And meanwhile it seems David Nottage is doing far more than Embarcadero. :-( Great job by the way, David.

  3. Well, now I am really worried. Seems not to be so easy as it should, hope Emb release the fix asap.

  4. They have to release an update in the next 4-5 days becuase from Aug 1 you won't be able to upload apps anymore. Update the existing ones ok but not uploading. The community edition is nice and everything but without this fix it is pretty flawed

  5. Alberto Miola It's hard to imagine that if they fail to get an update out on time their cross-platform tool will be unable to submit programs to the Play Store or the (OS X) App Store. :-( And it was only thanks to Microsoft changing the rules that the issue with the Windows Store was resolved.

  6. So, did they meet the deadline? Let me check.... well... sort of... maybe....

" We will invite all customers on active Update Subscription to join our upcoming 10.3 Beta (under NDA). More details on the Beta and how to sign up will be shared in the coming weeks over email - check your inbox.
The 10.3 beta will allow you to target Android API level 26. Although the usual beta restrictions do not allow for building and deploying production apps, this beta will have a special EULA provision allowing you to deploy (production) Android apps to the Google Play Store."

So if you own 10.2 on down and don't have an active subscription, it's now useless for Android development. :-(

  7. Luckily enough all my main apps have been ported to Java but still I am disappointed because FMX users dont even know when they will release the """working""" version...

  8. Joseph Mitzen "it's now useless for Android development". Incorrect on 2 counts:

1: If you don't target Google Play.
2: If you use the suggested workaround.

That might sound picky, however you used the word "useless", which is plain false.

  9. David Nottage Alright, out-of-the-box it's useless. I don't want to take anything away from your hard work.

Regarding point one, I find it unlikely that anyone publishing exclusively to F-Droid is using the proprietary Firemonkey framework to do so. The only other option would be those developing for their own internal use, and I've never perceived that as being a significant component of those using Delphi for Android development. I could be wrong about that.

What i intended to express was my dismay that 10.2 is the current version and still under support, but the official statement is that they won't be updating 10.2 to resolve this issue. That smacks of the old days when you had to upgrade to receive bug fixes.

Another point I didn't originally make is that the 10.3 beta is under NDA, so no one's allowed to say how well the fix is working for them, mention what is not working right now or convey any workarounds they find to any hypothetical issues.

Right now 10.2 cannot publish new Android apps to the Play Store or OS X apps to the App Store. It won't allow updates to the Play Store starting in November. If you bought Delphi for either of those platforms, I doubt you're happy right now. David Heffernan already discovered that EMBT won't change the web page declaring that you can publish OS X apps to the app store.
