Thank you to everyone that has contributed to the document (see "files section" in the Delphi Developer Facebook group) but we need more! I urge everyone to take 5 minutes to check the document and add a Delphi or C++ builder club if it's not already there. This is extremely important! Be pro-active, don't leave it to chance or someone else. Be the change!

  1. I don't even have a Zuckbook account anymore.

Edit: Technically I did at the point of writing the comment, but I just remembered that it was just deactivated since the start of April.

This has worked out so well that I might as well delete it completely. So, at September 11th, it will be permanently deleted.

  2. Lars Fosdal ++, I did the same since Mar, and looking to delete it completely later.

  3. More on topic though - discovering nearby Delphi and C++Builder user groups is great, so I'd echo Jon's request that we add groups we know of to the list.

Lennart Aasenden Maybe you can make it a Google Docs spreadsheet? I think you can give permission to add rows but not edit, or similar.

  4. Or just add them under Delphi Tips / Blogs / Tutorials / Videos here and tag them with #usergroup

  5. David Millington If you create a Form that can be used to publicly add to a Google Sheet.

  6. Lennart Aasenden the initiativ is great, the platform (FB) is not - please consider the other suggestions made to make the directory accessible. Maybe at one time an official place could be found, like the MVP and Tech Partner directories, but not that hidden. I still think that the first place to look for such things are the vendors site, like forums, downloads, case stories and white papers :)

  7. Not touching FB for ANY reason nowadays :) Hooorayy!

  8. We have 7500 users on FB these days, so it seemed like the best place to start. The document will be maintained and kept in several places perhaps -- probably make sense to eventually setup a server module for it. But for now FB is what we have.

  9. 9700 members here. The difference is that a Google doc does not require you to have a Google account to contribute, while a FB doc is walled in and require you to bare yourself to Zuckerberg, not only to contribute, but even to view.

  10. Lars Fosdal I can only start an initiative where I am. But the initiative here is to get the ball rolling, it is not meant to be exclusive to FB. It just originated there. So when we have more to work with, a proper solution will be the logical step.
Preferably one that doesnt require G+ or FB membership to access
