Having an Embarcadero sanctioned grammar, or Embarcadero ensuring https://github.com/RomanYankovsky/DelphiAST gets complete would be so much welcomed.

"The arguments that won the day for us here were about strengthening the ecosystem and becoming the best tooled language on the planet. They were about long-term growth of C# and .NET, versus short term monetization and protection of assets for Microsoft. So even without having mentioned open source, signing up for the cost and risk of the Roslyn project was a big and bold step for Microsoft."

  1. "This in and of itself was a bit of a bold step in what was still a pervasively closed culture."

Boom and this is where Delphi exists...

  2. Lars Fosdal Wait, so you delete my post warning people that if you use a business address when downloading Community Edition, Embarcadero's license compliance department will contact your employer asking for money. But a post about C# and how EMBT should follow Microsoft's lead is on topic? I'm confused.

  3. If you can't tell the two apart, you are indeed confused.

  4. Lars Fosdal Oh let's just say my eyes have been opened. First response after this news appearing on the Delphi subreddit was a comment asking the original poster to submit it to the Google Plus Delphi community since it gets much more traffic than the subreddit. There was also a third report of this happening to a Delphi user. I'll be sure to de-confuse them though for you.

  5. Joseph Mitzen Any license payment or license liability or validity issues should be raised with EMBT. Nobody but EMBT can resolve or clarify license issues.

I keep repeating that we don't deal with business practices here. Technical issues or coding issues are what we do here. The rest should and must remain a dialog between the license holders and EMBT.

Do you still find it confusing?
