  2. Just as David Heffernan mention. You better be very careful with doing any type of saving from YouTube especially using a company's machines.

As it stands downloading videos to a PC is an infringement of YouTube's terms and conditions. It is almost certainly illegal as well, if you do not own the copyright or have permission from the copyright holder or distribute and benefit financially from the download.

  3. Is youtube-dl illegal ? As it give just the option to download . And it
    connect to many other sites.
It is on the user behalf to use it wisely.

  4. shlomo abuisak I don't think a program can be illegal. It's the usage that could be. If you were to try to commercialise such a program then you upset youtube. Anyway, you already know about youtube-dl, use it if you wish.

  6. David Heffernan Browserwrap agreements have been found to be unenforcable in multiple court cases in the United States including Be In, Inc. v. Google Inc. and Nguyen v. Barnes & Noble Inc. because the fundamental element of assent is lacking.

  7. Jeroen Wiert Pluimers Definitely the best option. For personal use though I like mps-youtube. It can search for songs and play them right from the console! It'll also download, convert, etc. You can use it to play podcasts, etc. from wherever you're working. There's even a docker image available, which makes installing (and removing) it a breeze (and least if you're using it on a machine with a docker client).
