UberPDF Plus Render, View and more

UberPDF Plus Render, View and more

We are pleased to announce our next update will include PDF rendering and viewing options followed with many additional capabilities (such as interactive form fill and editing).

The release of this update is expected very shortly.

This initial release will support Microsoft Windows® x32 and x64 desktop, to be quickly followed with support our other platforms.

Pricing will increase substantially to mirror the capabilities delivered.

Current customers will be grandfathered at the current rate for existing licenses.

This is a forward looking statement. Those wanting to secure licenses at the current pricing model should consider any potential risk involved. We believe this risk to be very low.

  1. Imho the compiled examples should be available for download.

  2. Andrea Raimondi I am raising prices to accommodate that sort of thing.

  3. The PDF tools are likely very good, but raising prices to offer compiled examples is something I dont quite understand.

To me, any expense incurred making and offering examples is just a matter of doing business. Most everyone does it.

  4. Jennifer Powell We are a small shop, delivering a product that started as "free", that quickly is becoming competitive with tools costing $2000 or more. Our market is not Delphi® developers (yet I support that), but rather corporations needing specialised high end PDF tools.

You have "price, features, and quality", but can pick only two (due to economic reality).

Our primary goal is quality, and the price is very fair. Features are getting added at stunning rate.

We have examples for download (and compile-able examples for the free open source core engine).

To provide compile-able examples for the non-open source additions requires some sort of license key system.

Our current goal is to service customers (instead of serving the selling of customers).

The economic reality is that at $79, the Delphi® market does not support adding a license key system for the sales it will generate.

Actually, the Delphi® market does not support even taking the time to post a product announcement here.

The "matter of doing business" really comes down to exactly that. It must be profitable. At $79, it is not (nor will it, demo or not). At $500, $1000, or $2000, it may very well be.

So, our next update will bring features that are found at the $700 to $2000 dollar range, we will adjust prices, and put more attention into the selling of customers (and provide a demo).

What can I say? I am an idealist, and I while wish that developers would support the concept of an inexpensive commercial grade PDF engine delivered on the cheap, they do not. So, we will accommodate accordingly and hope for the best. You can't have everything, as "doing business" dictates the rules.
