Is there a decent commercial option for G+? Discourse or some other choice that perhaps some upstanding Delphi types would pay to host? I know I'd chip in...

  1. In addition to the new forums, or instead of?

  3. And of course, you have too, this option.
    I found good resources here.

  4. Personally I don’t like forums, unless they have an app that we can install and receive push notifications.

  5. To be honest, I have not visited the forums much since they started. For me they don't lend themselves to the social side of things that G+ offers (and MeWe was going to offer). I probably will use them, but not as much.

Don't get me wrong. I think Lars and the other guys have done a great job with the forums, but I can't see myself visiting as often as I viewed posts here.

I like Experts Exchange and participate there quite often.

  6. I also enjoy more MeWe than the forums

  7. Martyn Spencer I agree.. I'll be hanging out in the Delphi Subreddit from now on.. I may be the only one.. hahaha, but the user experience is optimal for me. https://www.reddit.com/r/delphi

I think that the quality of the entries in the Reddit group is low, low, very low.

Seems a news aggregator feed by the administrators.

All the entries are from the last days and are old news on youtube and entries of third-party blogs.

I think that in this type of groups people like me, are searching for other things.

Discussion, participation, questions, feedback, and news. Yes news too, but not only news and aggregations.

Almost all entries are made by the administrators of the group. This sounds a fake.

  10. Brian Ford Just joined there as well - it looks and feels more like the community here. The forum is great but too structured for a free flow of ideas and thoughts

  11. Brian Ford I've never used reddit, seen it a few times after I googled something and at first glance it always felt like a giant chat box. Did I get the wrong impression, is there more to it? Thanks.

  12. The newer interface seems to be slightly clearer and more in line with what people have come to expect from sites like G+ and MeWe.

  13. Darian Miller what are the specific features of G+ that you require. Is it the nice UI or something else?
